Defining Focal Points through Home Staging

A focal point can be defined as a striking element of a room. When you walk into a room, a focal point immediately grabs your attention and draws you towards it.

Creating focal points is important as they help in furniture arrangement and creating visual interest. Focal points should be emphasised when staging your property for sale, these are the features that highlights the functionality and appeal of each room, therefore revealing the property’s value to potential buyers. Read below for the guide to defining focal points in Home Staging!

  1. Living Room

The common focal point in the living room is the TV or TV console. In this case you should stage around the TV / TV console. Set up the living area furniture around the focal point to accentuate it. Alternatively, a large window or art piece can also be used as focal points.

2. Dining Room

In the dining room, the dining table is the focal point, but there are some decor items you can use to beautify this focal point. For instance, a beautiful flower vase or a fruit bowl at the center of the table.

3. Bedroom

The bed is the focal point, hence the staging is done surrounding it. Enhance the focal point by keeping it clean and clutter-free. You can also make the bed stand out more by bringing in a matching side table and accessories.
